    Sold my first Deploying and Managing Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 training manuals

     

    Yes after many months of blood, sweat and tears I FINALLY sold my first courseware kits for my Deploying and Managing Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 course smile_regular

    The good and kind folks at New Horizons of Nebraska was the first training center to publicly order the kits.

    Here’s a brief outline of the 3 day course:

    • Module 1: Project Server 2007 Architecture provides the background knowledge to effectively plan a Project Server 2007 deployment. It will also detail the logical and physical architecture, planning for high availability and scalability, understanding the SharePoint site structure and hardware & software requirements.

    • Module 2: Installing and Configuring Web Services provides information for how to install and configure IIS 6.0 web services. It will also detail creating the necessary service accounts, installing and configuring the software components and web services settings.

    • Module 3: Installing and Configuring Microsoft SQL Server provides information for installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Analysis Services. It will also provide the concept of OLAP cubes and the requirements to create them.

    • Module 4: Deploying Project Server 2007 describes how to install and configure Project Server 2007. It will cover details on configuring single server and multi server farm configurations, and also configuring Project Server 2007 in an extranet scenario using Forms Authentication.

    • Module 5: Configuring Project Server Clients explains how to configure Project Server clients: Project Professional and Project Web Access. It also explores creating Project Server profiles, installing and configuring the necessary software components.

    • Module 6: Configuring Project Server Settings details how to configure the enterprise data settings, time and task management and operational policies. It also covers creating and configuring enterprise custom fields, calendars, and time & task management and server settings.

    • Module 7: Configuring and Managing Project Server Security describes how Project Server security works. This module details, how to configure and manage Project Server security including: creating Project Server security users, groups and categories and configuring Project Server permissions

    • Module 8: Configuring Project Workspaces explains how to configure and manage Project workspaces. It also covers how Project Workspaces work, creating a custom Project Workspace site template, adding and modifying web parts.

    • Module 9: Project Server Administrative Tasks describes the administrative tasks that a Project Server Administrator will be required to know. This module details importing resources and projects, configuring and building the OLAP cube, reviewing and creating views and performing disaster recovery tasks.
